Lando Norris Leads Piastri in Brazilian Practice

Lando Norris narrowly beat team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the final moments of the practice session at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Norris, who grabbed the points lead from Piastri by just one point after winning in Mexico City recently, beat the Australian by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.

Until that point, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver during the running before sprint qualifying due at 6:30 PM GMT.

The Red Bull star, the only other driver in the points battle, trailing 36 points Norris, was classified in 17th place as his Red Bull team followed a unique setup.

His teammate the Japanese driver was the only driver to go off, albeit lightly, when he spun at the fourth corner during the early running.

Tsunoda lost control over the track edges before spinning across the gravel trap, and was blessed to avoid just a slight brush of the fence.

The Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton also spun, at the final moments of the practice, spinning around through the fast downhill corner approaching the final corner on to the main straight.

The veteran ended the session in 19th, one place behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.

The McLaren drivers were significantly quicker of the other competitors, with the German's car P3, 0.619 seconds slower than the Australian's time.

Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with the Sauber of Bortoleto fifth from the Mercedes of Russell and Alpine's Pierre Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
